This course is to ensure filmmaking can be done at an international level adapting Bollywood techniques. This is to make sure the learners of this course will have a fully comphrehensive vocational training where they can learn the aspects of filmmaking from scratch to completing a film shoot with the required post production as well as being able to market and promote the film.

This course is to provide the learner with hands on teaching, in theory and in practice of film making. The course is designed giving the learner ALL the aspects required in International filmmaking with Bollywood.

The course will cover areas and values in Bollywood filmaking such as dance ,

music and songs and adapting them to International Filmmaking. Bollywood is one of the leading film industries in the world. This course is designed so Bollywood techniques can be applied to International standards of filmmaking and vice-versa.

The course will be able to give the learner a positive impact of filmmaking once the course has been completed. Furthermore, the learner should be able to fully understand (at an intermediate level) of being involved in the film industry in both the East and the West.

This will be a full vocational course with lectures, seminars and tutorials inbetween the modules to help the learner achieve their full target.

The main concept of this course is for the learner to work as part of a group and have a finished short film made. The short film they will start from the beginning, where they will be part of writing the script. Once the script is written they will look into all the aspects of making this script into a complete film, this will involve them understanding all the requirements and professions and skills to make this film. They will work alongside experienced film industry workers from Malta, UK, USA and Bollywood, and be taught and given details on how to produce the film. They will get all support from pre-production to production to post-production and final classes will be given on distribution, marketing and promotions of the film. Throughout the course and during modules the learners will be assessed by the staff and guided so the final product, a short film is made to International standards with Bollywood techniques as and when required.

The target group for this course can be as follows:

  1. Anyone over 18 that wishes to be involved or looking at a career in filmmaking.
  2. Anyone already involved in the film or television production that wishes to get a first hand experience in filmmaking
  3. Learners can be from anywhere in the world with a passion in filmmaking

Overall Course Objectives:

The learner at the end of the course will be able to understand the following in filmmaking:

  • Understand the history of film and how the different films worlwide made an impact on cinema through different regions and genres.
  • Will be able to have the requisite skills to write a script and also identify a script written to an international format.
  • Will be able to budget a film, confidentaly prepare a unit for filming.
  • Will be able to plan a shoot using storyboards and develop the right production design and ensuring locations are scouted in recces.
  • Will be able to get a cast together and be able structure auditions. Make sure the costumes and props are utilized accordingly.
  • Will be able to shoot a film using the tools required, such as camera, grips, dolly, tracks, lights confidently.
  • Will be able to manage the logistics of a shoot such as transport and accommodation.
  • Will be able to manage the shoot acquiring the correct permisisons, permits and call sheets.
  • Will be able to ensure they know how to get the film on a post production platform with editing, DIT, Colour correction, grading, music and backgriound score.
  • Will be able to promote a finished film and then able to communicate on how to market the film and ensuring the film can be sent to festivals around the world.
